Welcome,
I hereby connect, somewhat curiously, my most challenging experience with illness so far.
In June, based on an MRI scan, the urgent need for surgery due to an acute purulent infection in the cervical spine was diagnosed.
In my desperation, I turned to the neurosurgery department of the University Hospital …, but was unfortunately turned away there in the emergency room by a colleague for physical reasons—there was no available bed in the intensive care unit.
Subsequently, my wife drove me to the Bamberg Clinic, where I was warmly welcomed and promptly identified as an urgent patient in the emergency room, as described above.
Over the next 3 hours, I was thoroughly informed and prepared for the surgery, which was then carried out by a competent and calm colleague.
Already the next day, I was largely free of complaints and happy to have come through with just a small scar on my neck.
I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent treatment, and I can highly recommend the neurosurgery department of the Bamberg Clinic to my patients as well.
